Sewing classes Manchester: your questions answered

Do I need any sewing experience?

No. The pattern making, alterations and iPad design workshops are made for complete beginners. We start from the basics and you work at your own pace with one-to-one help. Draping Level 1 is easier if you already know how to use a sewing machine.

What should I bring?

Just yourself. Sewing machines, cutting tables, pattern paper, calico and tools are all provided in the studio. For the iPad workshop, please bring your own iPad with Adobe Illustrator installed, and if you are working on your own clothes, bring the garments you want to alter.

Where are the classes held?

All of our sewing classes in Manchester take place at Anna Stella Fashion Academy, 200 Mauldeth Road, Manchester M19 1AJ, close to Burnage, Levenshulme, Didsbury and Fallowfield, with bus links into the city centre.

Can I book for a friend or a group?

Yes. Each class takes up to six people, so it works well for friends, birthdays and small team days. Message us on WhatsApp for a private group date or to buy a workshop as a gift.
